Nicholas J. Gerstbauer recently joined the law firm of Yoder Ainlay Ulmer & Buckingham, LLP as an associate attorney. He previously practiced law at a firm in South Bend, Indiana. He earned his law degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2023 and graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 2018 with degrees in Political Science and Japanese.
During law school, Nicholas clerked for several South Bend law firms and for Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita’s Government Litigation Division in Indianapolis. He held roles as Articles Editor for Maurer’s Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies and as Event Coordinator for the Maurer chapter of the Federalist Society.
Beyond his legal work, Nicholas currently chairs the board of directors of the St. Joseph Valley Society and sits on the board of directors for the St. Hildegard Project. He is also active at his local parish, St. Stanislaus, serving as a member of the choir and of the Building and Maintenance Committee. The Gerstbauer family has called Northern Indiana home for over two centuries, and Nicholas is committed to giving back to the communities that have served his family so well in that time. He and his wife, Kateri, live in Mishawaka with their two sons, Albert and Arthur.
Though he takes an interest in most areas of the law, Nicholas will concentrate his practice in the areas of litigation and governmental work.
